OUR STORY

Fabric that still has life in it, piling up in factories and markets across Kenya. Girls who still have everything to learn, staying home because they have nothing to manage their period with. Both overlooked. Both worth so much more.

We saw the connection that others missed. That the material the world abandons can restore the dignity it takes away. That a scrap of fabric, in the right hands, can keep a girl in her seat.

Taka ni Pesa. Waste is money. But more than that, waste is worth and possibility.

~ Caren Ajwang, Founder · Kisumu, Kenya
HOW IT WORKS

The loop closes here.

Four steps. One continuous circle. Every piece of textile rescued,
every product sold, every kit delivered keeps the loop in motion.

01 · Collect

Rescue the fabric.

Caryle partners with tailors, garment producers, textile waste handlers and local communities to collect textile waste that would otherwise pollute landfills.

02 · Transform

Made by hand.

The reputable and highly-skilled textile-artisans in our Kisumu workshop wash, cut, and sew the rescued fabric into comfortable DignifyHer™ Reusable Pads.

03 · Sell

Carry the story.

DignifyHer™ Reusable  Pads are distributed across East Africa with support from NGOs, donor agencies, schools, government agencies, corporates, and development partners.

04 · Restore

Fund the dignity.

Every sale funds livelihoods for the women who make the DignifyHer™ Reusable Pads for Adolescent Girls & Young Women (AGYW) who would otherwise miss school.
